When I was in highschool, people were my favorite subject. I was deeply inspired by painters who used dramatic lighting in their portraiture, such as Caravaggio & Rembrandt - but I also sought to merge abstract influences, looking at artists like Gerard Richter. I spent many years just painting friends, self-portraits, or commissions here & there (unfortunately with little care for photographing them - many also went undocumented), but started to move toward non-people subjects as I got further into my adulthood. While I still enjoy painting portraits & taking commissions on occasion, I'm also still currently trying to figure out my particular style & genre...
